Part of an old inn, rustic Las Golondrinas was built over one hundred years ago. Farmers would bring their goods to the Venta, stay over night, and probably drink some sweet Malaga wine. In the morning, they would head down to the market in Malaga to sell their goods and cattle.
Not much has changed since this rental was a waystation. Time has forgotten this land so close to Malaga. El camino real is the road farmers would have taken with their livestock and carts. Even now goats take presidence over cars. After a century of such use, Venta Valiente has been lovingly restored and retains much of its original character. From the front terrace, you enter into a large and comfortable saloon with an old pebble floor containing designs of swallows in the wind with a compass surrounding them. Much of the floor tiling is turn of the last century arabic tiles which give a good indication to the age of this house. Exposed wooden beams form a latticework ceiling.
A small organic farm nearby can provide you fresh eggs, seasonal vegetables, goats cheese, and we particularly recommend the pork. Only a 15min walk separates you from the old Ermita (an ancient church) which comes alive especially during Easter week when locals hold religious processions as well as big fiestas for all.
